Musical Autobiography

For me, the music is a part very important, there is a direct connection between the rhythm and lyrics of a song and my mood. When I knew pop music (my favorite genre) , I found a different life style, a music for each activity of my daily rutine and basicly this changed my life. Now althoug I like to listen to whatever type of music, I love few singers but is enough for me, the first one is Ed Sheeran, his voice and messages in his songs.

I am going to let you know 3 of my favorites song in my playlist. Welcome to my opinion about three topics and how I do a relation between them and music.

Song 1: Afire Love – Ed Sheeran

The song was published in June 16 of 2014, its genre is popular. It was composed for Ed Sheeran and two people more and is part of the album Multiply (X).

About the story of the song, is about the singer´s grandfather dead, who suffered from Alzheimer’s disease for twenty years. Song talks about the relationship between Sheeran and the illness as a child until his grandfather funeral. The singer is amazing, he can transmit his feelings who is listening his songs. Also, has an excellent voice.

Me: When I feel like without zest, I like to listen this song, because the message makes me feel sad. For the story, I remember to my great-grandmother, when she dead my father told me She was afraid of not reminding us because she was having early Alzheimer's, she suddenly forgot some things about her daily routine, and we felt powerless.

Opening sentences, he talks how he remember the first time that his grandfather did not recognize the face of him. For me it has a big impact thinking that it must be horrible for the family and more for Ed, who did not know what was happening.

Closing the song, finishing with Sheeran´s family singing: “and my father, and all my family rise from to sing hallelujah”

Song 2: 7 Years Old – Lukas Graham

It song was published in 2015 by the Danish band Lukas Graham and its genre is soul-pop. The lyric is about growing up in a community thinking in possible ideals as an utopian community, is very emotional because let me remind my childhood, my dreams and my hope by the humanity and its ethics.

The singer hopes anxiously to turn 60 years old because his father dead when was 61 years old. What I can feel with the song and understand of the lyrics is that we have a way to live and steps to follow throughout our lives, for example, if you do not get marry, you will be lonely.

The song let me feel cheerful, thoughtful about what I want with my life, sometimes I try to disregard the risk of failure and to think the future, what is waiting for me. The rhythm is slow, calm and quiet, but sticky. Let me feel in peace, relax and sometimes restless.

At the end of the song, the singer expresses that he will be 60 years old and he will think that the world is cold or maybe he will have many children who can warm him.

Song 3:  Me vale – Maná

The release of the song took place in 1992 by the artist Maná, it is part of the album in Spanish “¿Dónde jugarán los niños?” and is genre is rock in Spanish.

First time I listened to this song, I was in the school, exactly 6 years ago. My friend`s brother loves this type of music (genre) and for that reason I knew to Maná. It call my attention because the lyric is about to live how you want to. Especially when the people is not agree with you physical appearance, how you have your hair, what type of music you like, who are you friends and things like that.

The rhythm is properly according to its genre, for that reason is in good taste, cool, lively and upbeat. The song is catchy, so I feel excited, content and I like that.

First, lyric expresses the main idea of the song, what is  " It does not matter to me what the people think" because there are people who criticize his way of life, the way of his hair and his clothes. At the end, we can listen that Maná gives an advice to the gossip people about be worry of their defects.
